Guides & Walkthroughs
From your first match to unlocking the most powerful unit in the game — comprehensive guides for every stage of your Anime Squadron journey.
Understanding the Core Loop
Anime Squadron is a lane battler where you deploy units to fight waves of enemies. Your base has a set number of lives — if enemies reach it and reduce those lives to zero, you lose. Your goal is to place units strategically to intercept and eliminate enemies before they breach your defenses.
Every match begins with a limited amount of Yen (the in-game currency). You spend Yen to deploy units, and Yen regenerates passively over time. The more expensive a unit, the more powerful it generally is. This creates a core tension: do you deploy cheap units immediately, or wait for your Yen to accumulate for a stronger deployment?
The answer is almost always to deploy Fastwagon first. As the only economy unit in the game, Fastwagon accelerates your Yen generation, allowing you to deploy your main DPS units faster than you otherwise could. Make this a habit from your very first game.
- Always deploy Fastwagon as your first unit in every match.
- Do not panic-deploy weak units — wait for your Yen to build up for stronger ones.
- Position DPS units behind your tank to protect them from direct damage.
Your First Week Priorities
The first week in Anime Squadron is all about building a functional roster and pushing through Story Mode. Here is a day-by-day priority breakdown:
Day 1-2: Focus on clearing Story Mode Acts 1-3. These acts are manageable with starter units and will provide you with enough Gems for your first significant banner summons. Aim to pull Fastwagon from the banner — he is your most important early acquisition.
Day 3-4: With Fastwagon secured, push Story Mode to Act 4. The difficulty spike here is significant, but Fastwagon's economy boost makes it manageable. Start farming Act 3 on repeat for evolution materials to upgrade your starter DPS units.
Day 5-7: Begin exploring Squadron Mode for additional resources. Unlock Infinity Mode by meeting the prerequisites and set up your first AFK farming team. Even a basic Infinity Mode team will generate significantly more resources than Story Mode farming.
- Spend Gems on banner summons, not cosmetics — units are everything.

Building Your First Team
A functional early-game team consists of four roles: Economy, DPS, Tank, and Support. You may not have units for every role immediately, but this is the composition you should work toward.
Economy (Fastwagon): Deploy first, always. His Yen generation is the foundation of every team composition in the game.
DPS (Rizzuto or Karashi): Your main damage dealers. Position them in the middle of the lane where they can hit the most enemies. Upgrade their levels as a priority.
Tank (Shield Hero): Place at the front of the lane to absorb incoming damage. This protects your DPS units and extends the overall survivability of your team.
Support (Shinks, when available): Shinks's damage reduction aura is invaluable even in early game. If you pull him from the banner, immediately incorporate him into your team.
- A team of 4 well-leveled units beats 8 underpowered ones.
- Level your economy unit (Fastwagon) to max first — the investment pays off immediately.
- Reroll traits on your main DPS unit as soon as you have enough Reroll Cubes.
