All Game Modes Explained

Story Mode is the backbone of Anime Squadron's progression system. Divided into multiple Acts and Chapters, it takes you through an expanding anime multiverse under siege. Each act introduces new enemy types, tougher boss encounters, and increasingly complex wave patterns that demand strategic unit placement and team composition.

As you clear stages, you earn Gems for summoning, basic crafting materials, and the evolution items necessary to strengthen your roster. The difficulty scales steadily, pushing you to continuously upgrade your units and refine your strategy. Completing Story Mode stages also unlocks access to higher-difficulty game modes, making it the critical first step for every new commander.

Story Mode is also your primary source for unlocking specific units through questlines. The Primal Fusion quest, for example, requires clearing specific Story Mode stages as part of its completion criteria. Do not rush through Story Mode — take time to farm each act for materials before pushing forward.

Squadron Mode is where your team composition truly gets tested. Unlike Story Mode's linear progression, Squadron Mode presents you with specially curated battle scenarios featuring unique boss units with enhanced abilities and mechanics. These encounters require you to think beyond raw DPS — positioning, support synergies, and cooldown management become critical.

Each Squadron battle has a set of modifiers that change the rules of engagement. Some battles might restrict which unit types you can deploy, while others introduce environmental hazards or time limits. Adapting your roster to these constraints is the key to victory.

Completing Squadron Mode battles rewards you with exclusive crafting materials, Gold, and occasionally rare unit shards. It also serves as excellent preparation for Raids, as the boss mechanics in Squadron Mode mirror the complexity you will face in endgame Raid encounters.

Infinity Mode is the endgame farming destination for every serious Anime Squadron commander. As the name suggests, waves of enemies never stop — they grow progressively stronger, faster, and more numerous with each passing minute. Your goal is to survive as long as possible, because the longer you last, the rarer and more valuable your rewards become.

This mode is the primary source for Rare Loot Bags, which contain high-tier Trait Rerolls, crafting materials, and exclusive items unavailable elsewhere. It is also the best place to farm the materials needed for Gometa's Primal Fusion questline, specifically the 500-wave milestone requirement.

Infinity Mode is perfectly suited for AFK (Away From Keyboard) farming. Build a self-sustaining team composition with high DPS, reliable healing or damage reduction, and strong economy units, then let the game run. Woo (Shadow) is particularly dominant here because his Shadow Soldier mechanic scales continuously with the number of enemies defeated.

Raids are the pinnacle of Anime Squadron's challenge content. These time-limited encounters pit you against massively powerful boss units with complex multi-phase mechanics. Unlike other modes, Raids demand near-perfect team optimization — suboptimal builds will simply not survive long enough to claim the best rewards.

Each Raid has a specific set of recommended units and strategies. Some bosses are weak to burn damage (making Madora invaluable), while others require high single-target burst (where Woo shines). Understanding the boss's mechanics and building your team accordingly is the difference between a successful clear and a wasted attempt.

The rewards from Raids are among the best in the game, including the specific materials needed for crafting the Omega Gear Set and evolving top-tier units like Shanron. Raids reset on a weekly schedule, so make sure to complete them every reset for maximum progression.
